Effective January 1, 2004, the federal government implemented the Personal Information Protection and Electronics Documents Act (PIPEDA). Atlantic Challenge Canada Understands the importance of protecting participants' personal information. We are committed to handling any personal information we obtain in a professional, respectful and lawful manner. We would like participants to understand and be comfortable with the way we handle personal information.
We ensure that only necessary information is collected about participants. We never share personal information without consent. Our policy regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information complies with privacy legislation and the standards of the regulatory body. Personal information is protected from unlawful access using reasonable safeguards and is stored only as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
Atlantic Challenge Canada will collect, use and disclose information for the following purposes:
- For proper registration of participants
- To enable and maintain open communications and to keep participants informed of any programming changes.
- To provide contact information in an emergency.
- To establish and maintain alumni lists.
- To be sure we have up to date health information.
- To communicate with health care professionals in an emergency.
Participants have the right to review and/or correct the personal information we maintain about them at any time. If at any time a participant has any questions or concerns about the manner in which personal information concerning them is being handled, or to correct or update information previously provided, they may contact:
